Baseball exercises to promote a heathier, stronger arm

Baseball exercises are the key to strengthening a player's arm while avoiding common overuse injuries.

Dr. Jobe pioneered the "Tommy John" elbow surgery as well as the rotator cuff surgery. You may hear of exercises pertaining to the arm referred to as Jobe exercises. They are used by athletic trainers at the highest levels of the game to help strengthen and maintain the arm.

Throwing programs are also a great way to maintain arm strength both in season and out of season.

Tubing exercises have become extremely popular. Jaeger bands has a high quality band along with an exercise program that not only increases arm strength but it helps prevent injury.

On a personal note: Tubing exercises were the key to my recovery after having shoulder surgery. My arm actually came back stronger after going through a tubing regiment. Here are some baseball exercises you can use with Jaeger bands

A baseball weight training program is very individual in nature. What may work for a 16 year old should not be used on a 9 year old. The best advice is to consult the help of a certified personal trainer in your area or an on line personal trainer that has expertise in baseball and youth baseball players.
